Genesis – Load Factory Defaults on Phaser

If you need to factory default a phaser, it’s usually because you’re experiencing issues such as the phaser not reading the vest, sounds not playing, network settings not working, or you’re just performing overall maintenance prevention.

First start by inserting the key into the side of the phaser. Hold the key there until the phaser enters the configuration menu.

Once in the menu, locate the Load Factory Default settings.

Load Factory Default Options

Full Factory Reset: Used after a firmware update. Clears the phaser back to its default settings. Can be used in place of the below options.

Full Media Reset: Fixes audio glitches, sounds missing, and avatar image not loading

Reset Registers Inc Persistent: Resets the network settings and other system settings

Reset Register Exc Persistent: Resets phaser not including the network settings

Reboot Only: Reboots the phaser just like rebooting a computer or cellphone. Typically used if a screen is flickering or the screen is offset

The only ones that will be used on a regular basis are Full Factory Reset, Full Media Reset and Reboot Only.

Once these settings are performed the phaser will typically go through an LED lighting pattern during reboot/reset and may start loading sounds as well. During this stage do not touch the phaser or remove it from power until it has gone back to the engineering menu or normal charge menu.
