We recommend using the remote for most Delta Strike laser tag operations, however, if this is charging or not working, it is neccesary to use the browser based game manager to run games.
If using Genesis, the vest must be off charge to operate them in a game.
Accessing the Game Manager
To log in to the game manager double click on the Game Manager desktop icon.
Or
Open Firefox and type localhost in the address bar. Then press enter.
Games Tab
This tab is for basic game management. When you log into the Game Manager, this is the first screen you will see.
If there are any active phasers, there will be a game in Group Waiting.
When a game is selected from the Game Select box, all active phasers will be randomly divided into teams.
If there are additional players to add to the game after selecting the game mode, or any players want to change teams, this must be done from the Equipment tab (see next section).
To start the game, click the game in Group Waiting, then click Start Game.
To end the current game, select the game in Group Playing, then click on the – 05:00 button until the game time has gone to 00:00. You can also end the current game by clicking on Stop Game, or Stop All Games, though this is not recommended (It can cause errors with certain game events).
Equipment Tab
The Equipment tab is used to manage each active phaser.
When a phaser is in charge mode (as seen in the image above), it cannot change modes.
To bring a phaser into pregame from Sleep mode, either pull the trigger, or select it from the list and click Reset.
When a phaser is reset, it is put into Pre-Game Mode.
From this mode, you can choose various actions from the Actions dropdown, or change the selected phaser’s Colour (you can select more than one phaser at a time to do either of these).
Actions:
Reset – Resets the phaser/s.
Add to Game – Adds the selected phaser/s to the current game. This can be used to start a game, but can also be used to add a phaser into the game if they did not join initially (say from a communication error), or they have swapped their vest part way through.
Set to StartUp – Puts the phaser into start-up mode (This is rarely used).
Set to Sleep – Puts the phaser into sleep mode. It will go into the rightmost column.
Single handed – Allows the player to fire the phaser without placing their hand under the proximity sensor.
Friendly Fire – Allows the player to tag players on their own team (We do not recommend using this mode).
Group – Changes which group the phaser is in. This should always be Group 1. If you notice that a phaser is not scoring points, but is otherwise working correctly, this may be the reason why.
Starting a Game
We strongly recommend using the remote to manage and start all games. The remote gives you much better control over each phaser, and allows you to interact with your players directly.
If your remote is out of commission, using the Game Manager is the only other way of starting a game.
To manage/start a game with the Game Manager.
- Ensure that all the phasers are in the rightmost column (reset them if this is not the case).
- Have all players put on their vest and pull their trigger of their phaser.
This will put all of these players into the pregame mode (left column).
- In the Games tab, choose which game will be played. This will assign random colours to all players.
- In the Equipment tab, change each of the phaser options if required (colour, single handed mode etc).
- To start the game, either: Select all phasers and Add to Game from the Actions drop-down, or go to the Games tab and click Start Game.
Equipment Screen Advanced Options
Phasers In-Game Actions:
These options work the same as Pre-Game, with the exception of the Remove From Game action. Clicking this brings all the selected phasers out of the current game.
Other Views:
Click on Remotes or Arena Components to check the status of each of these components. They cannot be configured from here, but it is easier to see if they are working correctly here compared to the Game Server equipment list.
Other Tabs
There are a few more pages available in the Game Manager, but they are not used very often, especially in normal operation.
Membership: Manage members from here. Most Delta Strike locations do not have memberships.
Reports: Most of the reports are not available from the Staff login.
Control Panel: This is used mostly by managers and Delta Strike support staff. If there are any issues you need to have looked at, feel free to contact support here.
Member Kiosk: This is the screen you set up on the member kiosk so your members can update their battlesuits etc.
Scoreboard: Brings up the scoreboard. We recommend using the scoreboard shortcut on the desktop, as that should be configured to go to the correct monitor/TV.
