Genesis: Charge Rack Hangers not Powering on

This guide will walk your through on what to look for when all of your hangers are not lighting up or when just some are lighting up. Note that charge racks are powered by the first hanger and feeding power up to 6 hangers. If the first hanger board is bad, then the rest of the charge rack may not work.

Entire Charge Rack is not powered on

First locate your power box and make sure the power bricks are both on. Remove all vests from the rack so that nothing is plugged in.

This shows how power is going into the hanger board and then carrying power out to the next board.

• If the power brick light is off make sure the outlet is getting power.
• Unplug the power cable from the first hanger.
  • If the brick stays off after unplugging it from the hanger board, replace the power brick.
  • If the brick powers on after unplugged, replace the first hanger board to see if that resolves the issue. If the brick powers off after the first hanger board has been replaced, follow these steps.
    • Starting at the end of your charge rack unplug the last hanger board from power. Repeat until the power brick powers on. Whatever hanger was unplugged last, replace that hanger board.
• If the light is pulsing unplug the power brick cable from the first hanger board and see if the brick powers on. If they do power on, plug the brick back in. Starting at the end of your charge rack unplug the last hanger board from power. Repeat until the power brick stops pulsing. Whatever hanger was unplugged last, replace that hanger board.

Part of the Charge Rack is powered on

If only some of your hanger boards are lighting up start by removing all vests from your racks.

• Make sure the spiral cable is not damaged at the connector going to the hanger where the red and black cables are. If the copper wires are exposed replace the spiral cable and see if that fixes the issue.

• Check the power cable connectors to see if any are broken, bent or unplugged. If one of them is, replace parts as needed.
• Unplug the hanger that is not working and install a new hanger board. If it lights up repeat this process until all hangers are working.
