In this guide you will learn two ways to charge your vest as well as what a vest and rack look like when charging.
Spiral Cable Charging
The recommended method for charging a vest with the spiral cable is always from the vest charge port. The second method is plugging into the nose of the phaser. You can see both methods from the photos below.
When a vest is plugged in and charging is working, the back sensor will show a rainbow pattern and the charge rack will go blue.
Induction Charging
Another method for charging your vests is induction or wireless charging. This feature is primarily used during operation. When charging on induction the back sensor will change to rainbow and the vest rack will light up green as shown in the images below. If the hanger is red then your induction charging will not work.
Things to note on charging
If your charge rack is not lighting up then it will not charge.
If your spiral cable is falling out of the vest try using the plug inside of the phaser, or replace the cable.
If your spiral cable works intermittently when you jiggle it, or has exposed copper wire, replace the cable.
As long as the back sensor is rainbow that means it is charging. The hanger does not need to be blue or green.
Induction charging will only work if:
- The vest is powered on first by the spiral cable and the battery is above at least 10%.
- Shoulder sensors need to be parallel to the ceiling.
- Receiver coil and transmitter works and are plugged in.
