Phaser resetting To Pre-Game Mode (white)
This article will guide you through troubleshooting and repairing a phaser that is resetting to pre-game mode during games. A phaser is resetting to pre-game mode if, during a game, it loses its team color, score, and is unable to tag other players.
Vest errors can cause the phaser to reset out of a game make sure the issue is not related a vest error, for resolving a vest error use this guide.
1. Ensure the battery is fully charged.
The most common reason for this fault is a low Battery. Make sure the battery is sufficiently charged.
2. Check the phaser’s power cable.
Open the Phaser case and front vest sensor. Make sure the power cable running through the phaser hose is plugged in firmly at both ends and undamaged. If the cable was not properly fed through the grooves in the front sensor plastic shell, it could have gotten pinched, which could create a short in the wire. The power cable can also get damaged if it was smashed in one of the screw poles or screwed through, so always be careful when closing a phaser or chest sensor back up.
If you spot damage, replace the power cable in the hose.
The black stopper should be cabled tied to the vest end metal bracket to make sure the wires are not being pulled through the wired hose.
3. Check the battery.
Check that the battery is firmly plugged in and that its cable is undamaged. If you don’t see any visible damage and it’s firmly plugged in, remove the battery and replace it with a fully charged battery from a working phaser (new batteries may not be charged).
4. Run a test game.
While the game is running, bend the phaser hose cable at different points, simulating the movement that would occur during a game. This will further help you identify whether the power cable has a short.
5. If problem does not persist after you have checked the battery, replace the old battery with a new one.
Make sure you set the phaser aside to charge before putting it back into the vesting room.
6. If the problem does persist after you have checked the battery, replace the power cable in the hose.
Run another test game after you do so, bending the hose cable at different points, as described above.
7. If the problem still persists, replace the Key Switch.
You can learn how to replace the Key Switch here. After you replace the Key Switch, run another test game, verifying the problem is corrected.
8. If the problem still persists, replace the phaser mainboard.
You can learn how to replace the mainboard here.  After you replace the mainboard, change the name and match node to the IP address. Phaser will need firmware and commands, Firmware Upload. Run another test game, verifying the problem is corrected.
9. If the problem still persists, contact Delta Strike support.
